I mean if you have been in H1b status and return to china for stamp, no problem. you can get your visa any where

现在在中国阿，之前写成了北京，还没来得及改，就把petition送上去了结果批了，可是后来打听下在上海签，今天拿到797发现上面写得北京，不知道会不会有影响啊

if your providence is managed by shanghai consulate, just go shanghai, not a big deal. if you are not sure, ask the company's lawyer who helped with your h1b petition.
