New student? GTR is really a small airpot. you might have to stop-over twice in order to make there. If someone can pick you up at Birminham, AL, you only need stop once. Say UA, PEK-ORD-BHM.
If I were you, I will contact school's CSSA first and see what they can tell you. You will definitely get the best answer from the existing students.
