Landing Canada

My family will land to Canada for a part of our process of canadian immigration that is just our backup plan. We plan to come back to the U.S. second day. What do we need to be prepared for the landing? How do we deal with Canadian border? Any advises regarding submit documents and answer questions to Canadian border? Thanks for your time.
