签证经历

The white young woman officer read my letter and list of materials carefully. Ask three questions: why would you go to the US? When did your daughter back to see you? (I was back to Beijing this summer 2006)? See our family pictures (about 12 pics). Do your daugher have green card? Yes (show her my passport and greencard copies and other my materials. My parents asked her if she wants to see their materials. She said No. Then pass.

只问了一个问题，也是我最担心的问题，6年没有回过国，知道是个硬伤。签证官人很nice，但还是没过。辛苦爸妈这些天的准备，有类似情形者，建议子女回去后，再让父母去签。

Very easy. VO did not ask any other documents.

Checked on 11/2/06, called consulate serveral times during the first 3 weeks without getting responses. My company has a local R&D department in Montreal, and I managed to get an office. Found contact number of the visa services in Washington DC from this link http://www.iflychina.net/node/1218 on Week 4, and started to call them daily. Was told on Friday, Dec. 1 to call back in a week, but on Monday Dec.4 received an email from the consulate informing visa pick-up on Tuesday Dec. 5.

本人F1,来美5年，回国两次。父亲做生意，母亲是家庭主妇。家境还可以。

先说详情:
VO现叫了我妈的名字，我妈上前。递上我的信，签证官不理。
VO: 有没有去过美国？
MOM: 没有。
VO:去美国干什么？
MOM:探亲，旅游。 我和我老公一起来签。
VO叫了我爸的名字。我爸上前。
VO:你们儿子赚钱了吗？
MOM: 是的。不过是奖学金。(递上我的材料）
VO（问我爸）：你是什么职业？
我爸讲不好普通话，于是我妈帮着回答。
MOM:我们是做生意的。(递上我爸的营业执照）
VO翻了翻，我妈又递上几本银行存则。
VO: 你们的经济条件还不够去美国。
就这样拒签了。：（ 其他准备的材料都没有用上。

1。我在签证以前就说了，只要签证顺利通过了我就把经过告诉大家，让后面签证的人借鉴．
2。我是第二次签证材料准备了一大堆样样齐全，但是，心里还是但忧，我就向耶稣基督祷告！我说；我把一切都交给耶稣基督来管理．真神！我的心平静了，睡觉也香．好象签证不是我的事是的，一点也不紧张．，我在江西南昌，上北京一趟不容易，万一通不过要去第二次就更悬，１０月９日只买到吉安－－－北京的火车票，坐了１８小时才到哒北京．

3。我女儿在美国帮我预约的时间是１０月１１日７点４０分，我准时进去，签证官只问了三句话就通过了（一分钟）．我准备了一大堆的材料都没用，我简直一点不相信，我问签证官；下一步到那个窗口办理？他指指隔壁窗口说：你是自取还是邮寄．我这才相信是真的签过了．真的要感谢神！

签证的程序是这样的：１号提交你填好的中．英文１５６表和１５７表．护照．８３０元的交费收据，然后她给你一个牌子，你就按照给你牌子的颜色站好队，叫到你的名字就到２号窗口按指纹（左右手食指各按一次），然后又按照拍子的颜色排队等候签证官的面谈．

Fairly easy, not even real questions.

1: So you work for XXX? Yes
2: You graduated from XXX? Yes
3: Your husband is in the US? Yes
4: Have a Nice trip.

My mother got her visa in her 3000. She lives in suburban, and is not a city resident. She is close to 70 years old. She was declined first time in July 2005. She did not ask reason. My elder brother accompnied her and helped her talking to VO the second time in Jan. 2006(My mother speaks local dialect which is speaked by people in Shanxi, shaanxi and part of inner mongolia). My mother is widowed. Besides me, she has 2 sons and 1 daughter and 4 grandchildren in China. She also has a bank deposit of showing RMB150,000.

问3.谁是我的SUPERVISOR 要了他的简历，我没有，给了她研究所的HOME PAGE和 RESEARCH OVERVIEW
