这个问题我在其他地方看到的说法也不统一，有人说他回来的时候，移民官告诉他不应该交797上的I94给航空公司，说是不关他们什么事。

我觉得交上去，没问题。 楼上说“在其他地方看到的说法也不统一”，不知道都是些什么人说的，是象我这样切身经历的、还是只是磨嘴皮的。
I94出境的时候要交，不交你留着也没什么用。btw，原来I94的号码和I797上新I94的号码就是一样的。

国际学生办公室的人千叮万嘱，尽管797让你把上面的I94撕下来订到你的护照上，可你千万别这么做。他们说你在签证的时候需要一份完整的797。我也不知道是为什么，不过他们怎么说我们就怎么做。所以在我们学校工作的H1B不管他回了几次国，797都是完整的。从其他的论坛也看到很多讨论，确实说法不一。不过我想，如果你应该交却没有交可以到时候再补交，但是如果不应该交却交了，那可再也找不回来了。所以还是自己留着吧。

in other words, I94 is not part of I797 even it is attached to the same page.
I got my visa with the broken page last time, no problem.

again, the only valuable comments are from those who actually went back, not from those who just hang on forums and bargin whether to go back or not...

不应该把……
按道理，你原来的i94是实效的，你新的i94(797上的）才是有效的。i94就是离境纪录，你叫个过期的算怎么回事？
再者，797上说得很明白，staple the (new) i94 to the original one
