They can fill them out by themselves. They can bring a pen to the interview, fill them at the time they are asked. however, do not listen to the people outside of the embassy, they tend to cheat old people for not-so-important things.
Thank you for your response! I will let my parents know. They can find this information on 157 form. So should I let them to fill it out right now or wait until they are asked to.
if they are pointed out they should fill them in when they are turning in the forms (usually it happens there), just fill in over there. they can even ask before turning them in. let them relax, really no big deal at all. I have filled out forms and corrected mistakes a lot of times when i interviewed for visa, parents are kind of worried though, sigh, not easy for them.

I really appreciated. Yes, it is not easy to them. They have to take 10 hour train to get to Beijing and deal with uncertainty of the interview. They are a little worried because 156 has bar code. Any handwritten correction won't be reflected on the electronic form. But I am more relaxed now after I read your notes. If your parent are applying for B2 visa too, I wish them good luck too.
