I am sure the same itinerary can be negotiated for about $950 if you care to buy it from some agent. But again, the saving might not be worth the hassle..
My muilti-city itinerary was not possible at www.nwa.com, which was odd. So I had to purchase from an agent where the fare was cheaper than at expedia.com which had the same itinerary.
