I'd like to share my experience since i have gotten helpful information from this website.

Background: Last time i came back to China was 2005 (F1 visa). After four years, i have switched from F1 to H1B and also have changed jobs.

Visa experience:

I felt that VO wanted to give H1B holders since the beginning. It was an African American VO. Only asked one question, which was related to some news in CNN that week, which was sort of related to my field. He didn't seem to care. The whole process lasted at most 1 minute.
