12/11 - Shanghai Consulate interview - Check
12/18 - DOS received files
1/4 - Case cleared
1/5 - Email notice
1/8 - Back to Shanghai consulate (didn't see VO for interview; showed them the flight tickets and they promised to deliver the passport on the same day)
1/9 morning - Pick up passport at the post office
1/9 afternoon - Flight back to the U.S.

感觉VO很好，整个过程都是笑眯眯的，我们是J1+2J2(LP和5岁的小女儿)，也许VO比较喜欢小孩子，我们这一队共5，6个人，本来是最后一个，第一个刚签完，第二个正准备上去，结果VO喊了一声说：“让那个小孩先签“，真是出乎意料。我们赶忙道谢，乐滋滋的上去了。
VO问的问题也很有意思，不是先问我，而是先对我女儿说：“你知道你爸妈去美国干什么吗？”这个问题我们可是没料到，小女儿憋了半天也没说出来，说“我想跟爸爸妈妈在一起。”VO笑笑说：“不知道没关系”
然后就是跟我的对话：
VO: do research?
me: yes,this is my offer letter.
VO: oh, 边翻边说 cleveland?
me: yes
VO: Could you introduce your research?
me: Ok, this is my research plan（递过去）. My study will focus on....
VO: Could you explain some application of your study?
me: My study...

我4年来第一回国，在美国转过身份。
Questions:
1. You work for xxx? What do you do there?
2. Where did you graduate from?
3. Do you like Maryland?

除了交上去的表格和I-797外，没有看任何其它材料。

VO 认真看了RA老板写的简单的RA工作介绍, 问了一下为什么要从H4转成F1, 答是为了减免学费和做RA. 问老公在U.S. 是否也在读书? 答是在工作.

并且查看了一下SEVIS. 就通过了.

公公婆婆刚刚在北京1签, 很顺利的过了, 真开心.

问题: 1. 你们去美国干什么?
2. 你们去过美国么?
3. 你们去待多长时间?
4. 你儿子回过国没有?

资料: 签证官只要了老公去年回国的签证复印件, 以及他的护照, I94复印件看了看, 没有再要任何其他文件, 就"祝你们旅途愉快"了.

个人觉得子女回过国还是很重要的.

祝愿要来美团聚的父母都有好运气.

今天签证形势很不好。看到据签的很多，中间还有人和VO吵闹，搞的VO叫保安的，还有人不愿意走什么的，弄得气氛很不好，搞得我旁边的一个MM说好紧张呀。
不过大家也不用紧张，该过的还是会过的。我认为不过的人中间确实有很多人没有准备好。
祝大家签证成功。

I was visiting my folks in China. Originally I had booked my interview on Jan 2nd knowing that by Jan 5th I would get my passport back. I booked my return flight on Jan 7th.

Well then Prs. Ford died. On 12/28 I got a phone call from the booking center. A chinese girl told me that 1/2 will be used to observe Ford's death and no interviews would take place on that day. My interview was postponed to 1/5.

the whold process is very easy, the visa office didn't asked any aditional support materials. just asked one question: what did you do in your company? then give me the visa approve notice.

I guess if your major is not senstive, it will be very easy to get H1B visa in china

14号被check，材料29号才到华盛顿，打电话过去说还要处理2-4周，其他被check的同胞们情况如何？

刚刚打电话回去，爸爸说妈妈签过了。非常高兴。明天等妈妈回到家，问了详细情况再贴更多信息。
