签证经历

我和老婆邀请父母来美。13号早上8：30到达使馆，排到7，8号。签证一切顺利，9点过就已经签好了。当时签证官说当天下午拿签证，后来说第二天拿签证。父母特别留意到说，只有17岁以下和70以上的父母才第二天拿签证。

值得一提的是收材料的中国工作人员非常不耐烦，也非常没有礼貌。

签证官问了几个问题

VO: 你是儿子还是女儿在美国？
VO: 他们住在什么地方？
VO： 你们退休了吗？
VO: 你们退休金有多少钱？
VO： 你们有房产证吗？
VO： 有你儿子和你们的照片吗？
VO： OK

感觉之前仔细阅读和准备还是很有必要的。

我第三次去美国,前两次都只去三个月,所以什么问题都没问就通过了.为了下次好签,到美国后最好不要延期.

The VO didn't review any documents that we prepared for my parents. She focused on the question why my parents stayed over two months last time. The VO told my parents to stay for two months, but actually gave them one year multiple entries. It really surprised me that the highlights of last interview got saved in their computer system.

6月11日早上6点半就陪伴妈妈来了到签证大厅，已经是人声鼎沸。请服务台的人帮忙检查156表才发现，有几项没有手写中文，仅仅填了英文。还有就是妈妈的电码没有写。查了个电码花了10元，实际上都有，但是一阵忙乱找不到，就顺便查了。他们帮助填写表格100元，建议干脆由他们填算了，我自己再家里折腾了许多次还是挂一漏万。

妈妈独自去排队，因为市内空调不开，儿子耐不住寂寞和热浪，吵着我带他出去玩。结果妈妈招手说是武警找不到她的名字不让她进去，我一听傻了，怎么会这样。赶忙过去问究竟，结果说是有预约的护照号码没有名字，让我们和预约中心联系。那就意味着我需要再买电话卡。赶忙求告仔细查查，不顾保安的劝阻。结果最后终于查到了。（妈妈预约的时候是旧护照，签证时把新旧都带去了，找不到名字却不是因为这个）

然后就是我在外面焦急的等待，大约10点，妈妈出来了，看脸色和手上的绿纸条知道过了。

I got H1B status in the middle of this April in America, and came back into China for vacation starting from May 5th. Booked ticket for returning was on May 31st. The Check process delayed my returning flight. Luckily, I did not pay too much to change the flight ticket time.

The officer did ask quite a few questions. He asked if being a medical physics is dangerous. I showed him a picture of our treatment room to help him understand what we are doing. He asked for the resume, but didn't take a single look at any other thing I have prepared.
