Helpless on a personal question on DS156! A painful experience and memories!
I have been married before and divorced. My ex is a permanent resident and he tried to apply for my greencard for me. However, after 1 year, we divorced. Therefore, the application was not valid any more. I have been always on my H-1 visa during the process. The experience is painful. However, now I am in a dilemma again. Since I have to fill the form of DS 156 question 36, should I fill yes and no? Will this influence the decision of visa officer?
Question 36 is stated “Has anyone ever filed immigrant visa petition on your behalf?” Thank you for your help!

hi, best solution is to ask your H1b lawyer. He will definitely tell you the answer.
Also do not worry about your immigration intention since H1b is allowed to have immigration intention. They can not reject you because of this.
