Mileage greedy for UA/Star Alliance, and prefer a shorter trip. Later learned 彩虹之旅C.C.H Travel offers pek <-> pvg <-> jfk by China Eastern at $918. Weekday price only applies on Dec 24/31. (MU 587 flies on 3/5/7 only) Not sure if still available. Also very nice agent.
