H1B Checked

Working for a National Lab. Back to China for a Conference.

VO asked: what are you doing for Cisco? then He asked for my resume and job description. I gave him the document which my company submitted for my H1B application. VO said he did not find the job description he wanted in the document, then I gave him the letter my manager wrote about my job responsibilies. VO took a look at that and told me he cant give me visa and it needs go through checking. It will take 3/4 weeks. I got email from "Beijing_NIV@state.gov" and my visa checking is cleared. I got visa from the post office on Jan 14th 2010.

12月15日上午，被CHECK. 交了129表和护照。三年前，F1被CHECK过，三周。此次CHECK, 到本周已经是第十周了。 我是07年十月从F1的OPT 转换的H1B，第一次回国. 被CHECK 的原因大概是化学专业及以前有被CHECK 过的经历有关。

第二次回国签H1B。第一次签的时候非常顺利。第二次以为没有问题，结果签证官只让我大致解释了我做什么工作，要了resume，就告诉我要被check。

不要相信签证官说的三个星期。对我的check用了整整一个月。

也不要指望等待的过程中谁能告诉你你的process到哪里了，还要多久。打电话到Washington DC 也没用。所有人能告诉你的只有your status is pending。只有耐心等待。

机票：如果你的返美机票是Continental的，他们不能把你的机票改成open date。你必须先cancel，当你的签证下来后再预约机票时间。不要打电话到Continental的Beijing Office去改机票，他们会收你两次钱，cancelation收 $200，schedule a new date再收 $200. 直接打电话到Continental美国的800 号码，cancelation不收钱。

4月28日签的，生化专业，被check。三周后一天一个电话到DOS，最后终于有个老太太帮发Email催一下，两天后（5月30号）收到cleared的消息。祝大家好运！
