H1B回国返签被check经历

本人8月27日回国，9月1日上海领馆签证，被Checked，直到9月29日拿到签证。由于在
国内无法上MITBBS，近日回到美国，特向大家汇报一下情况。听说，最近被Checked的
很多，希望准备回国的朋友做好最坏打算。

TMD，美国给我们这些H1B的visa只有3个月two entry，比我们以前F1的6个月two entry
还要克扣。

本人情况：2000年来美时被check过，美国MS毕业，F1－>H1B 2003年。最近往国内跑得
有点多：
2005年8月（H1B visa），2005年11月 (2nd entry)，2006年3月（reapply visa)。

要赞一句，现在上海领馆签证服务不错：预约方便，中方服务人员很nice，排队有序快
捷。

我是预约10点面试的，虽然9点就交了材料，一直等了近－个小时才轮到我。建议：不
用太早到，否则在领馆签证处里面还是干等，只要提前15分钟就可以了。

面试的是一位45岁左右白人肥婆，我第一眼就觉得她没有好气，好像是早上出门时同老
公吵了一架，还阴着个脸。刚上来，我同她打个招呼“Good Morning”，她居然连头都
不抬，翻看我的护照材料。打了指纹后，她问是干什么工作的，居然问我要resume。
TMD，又不是找工作面试，我带个人简历干什么？！向她申明，OS157就差不多是resume
了。她不吭声，继续翻看我的护照材料。双方有点僵，都没说话。这个肥婆再问我有没
有resume，我只好把律师申请H1B的I129材料copy拿出来，有个Petition letter上好像
有resume，她很快看了一下，问我能不能保留这个letter。我ok后，她把这页纸撕下夹
在材料中，说现在不能给我签证，要我补充材料。给了我一张fax cover，圈了一些要
补充的材料，让我发传真过去。

这下我有点毛了，申明还要回去工作的，问能不能下午把这些材料补齐，以便及时拿签
证（resume，公司情况，公司产品，公司联系人，不过是些打印的东西）。她很不耐烦
，说他们要check，让我发传真就行了，然后等消息。

我还抱有一线希望，就赶紧出了领馆，回到hotel按照fax cover清单打印材料。由于好
久没有找工作，还要修改一下resume。而且在领馆打印不方便，折腾了一个多小时才准
备好补充材料，离中午12点还有一刻钟。赶往领馆，中方服务人员以为我是中信打指纹
的，示意我排队。在说明情况后，他告诉我上午签证面试已经结束。

没有办法，只好回到hotel发传真。心里还七上八下的，不知道如何向LP交代，她就一
直反对我这次回国。晚上给boss打电话，他很爽快问"anything I can do to get you
back"。其实他也没有什么可以做的，我的application落入security check，只有干等
了。不过，还是让老板发传真给领馆，就算自我安慰了。

一直等到9月18日还是没有消息。看看自己机票要过期了，就找个时间打202-663-1225
（visa inquiry in DC）。在喋喋不休的播放了30分钟录音后，总算找到一个visa rep
。给她我的个人信息，她查了一下说，你是9月1号申请的，还早呢，至少要3－4周处理
时间。她态度很好，我一点脾气都没有，可怜我的机票了。

到9月22日，LP再打这个电话，被告知process finished，case approved。可是我还是
没有收到email，就又发传真过去到领馆问问什么时候可以来拿签证。25日下午，收到
一封New Passback Ticket.doc，终于可以去取签证了。

打印出这份doc附件，带上护照和I797 Notice，27日再次到领馆去。给中方服务人员出
示了打印件，进到领馆里。交上材料，窗口的工作人员就直接给了我绿条，让我去办签
证回传。这次连签证官都没有见到，整个过程不过15分钟。接下来的blah blah，就不
必多说了。

passport to the Consulate between 10:00-11:00AM, Monday-Friday (except US
and Chinese holidays). Print out this letter and bring it with your passport
