[签证经历] B2 广州 11/25/2008
The visa officer (a Black guy) apprived my parents's B2 visa application after he read my support letter and a booklet from my school with my picture and description on it. The officer asked:
1) "what's the purpose of your trip?" ("traveling, my daughter invited us", showed my support letter);
2) "do you have other kids in China" ("no, only one daughter. she is working in a university as an Assistant Professor", then showed him the booklet. the officer was very interested in the booklet and asked "may i see it?". Then he left -- my parents said he was checking my info online).
My dad tried to show the officer an album of my dean and I together, but he said "you passed, no need to show anything more". Thank him!
The was the first time my parents applied for a visa. I was rejected four times 6.5 years ago. I came back to visit my parents quite often (6 times in total, 3 times last year). I think the key is the booklet from my school -- it is something different from other applications. My conclusion is that it would be a great idea if you could make something extraordinary/different that interests the visa officer, who has reviewed similar stuff again and again.
