If your mom did not get the extenstion, her status became illegal. Visa office should notice this, and will not like it. It indicates your mom may also stay longer than allowed this time. Personally I don't think your mom will get approved easily. But you can try. Another thing, if you have applied for green card, be honest with the visa office, which may also have a negative impact, but better than being caught up lying.

Sorry, I mis-read your question. Your mom did get the extension. Then tell the truth. Is your child in Daycare now? If so, proof of daycare service is helpful.

As for your GC application, I would tell the VO that we're still planning going back to china, but back it up with a good reason.
