从本版学习了很多很多，今天是我回报的时候。
我在本版看到很多很多，都是来自城市，有房产证，退休金，
一定存款。比较少看到完全来自农村，没有上述条件的签经。
我是2002年5月J1来美。2002年底签证过期前回去看望老婆孩子和爸爸妈妈。
以后再没有回去过。我在2004年转为H1。
爸妈是地地道道的普通农民，一直在农村种地，生活。
勤勤恳恳一生。能听懂普通话，但他们自己讲得不好。
我是差不多提前一个月给爸妈寄去从本版收集的签证经验。
又收集了大约50多个问题，一一作了回答，通过传真发给在县城的哥哥。
哥哥带回老家给爸妈。爸爸每天晚上都读给妈妈听，体会签证的过程和
别人的经验。一遍一遍看我准备的问题。
最后，老爸认为材料都准备好了，问题也熟悉了。他们能做得都做了。
给不给签证不由自己做主。所以老爸比较坦然。倒是妈妈，我能体会到
妈妈还是很担心的。因为我知道妈妈很想很想我，很想看看儿子。
我提前两周用USPS寄材料到北京妹妹处。
我给爸妈预约了2月16日下午12:30。
爸妈提前三天来到北京，住在妹妹家里。第一天妹妹带爸妈照签证像，交签证费。
当天晚上，我和爸妈，妹妹把齐备的材料重新整理一遍。
第二天我打了两个小时的电话给爸爸详细讲了签证注意事项，强调了重点问题。
感觉爸爸基本上对每个问题都可以简洁地回答出来。而且，大方向掌握的很好。
签证当天，妹妹带着爸妈大概11点到。12点多一点就进去了。先去交了基本申请材料，
爸爸说，他们领到了深蓝色的牌子。然后排队去做指纹。接下来等保安叫。
这时候，有三个窗口在办理签证，都是男的。
一个白人女签证官出来了，新开一个窗口。爸妈排在最前面。女签证官
首先叫妈妈的名字，然后叫爸爸的名字。叫得比较慢。爸妈听到了赶紧上前。
递上牌子，并说“给你添麻烦了“。同时把我给签证官的信，给爸妈的信和材料清单
双手递进去。
听爸爸说，签证官只是大概看了一下邀请信，材料清单仔细看了。
签证官：你们是去三个月？
爸爸：是，我们就去三个月。（爸妈是来帮我带孩子的，但是我最关心的是爸妈能来美国
，
见见儿子，看看美国，时间长短没关系，实在不行，住三个月就回去，以后再来。孩子自
己带）
签证官：有照片吗？
爸爸：有（赶紧递上照片）
签证官：指着我结婚时我们全家合影上的我，问“这是你在国外的儿子“
爸爸：是
签证官：又翻到一张我女儿在幼儿园和老师的合影，问这个孩子是谁？
爸爸：这是我在美国的儿子的女儿。在上幼儿园。
签证官：你有房产证吗？
爸爸：有，递上“土地使用证”（这是农村人的特点，但是没有房产证。我在材料清单没
有列出，因为觉得在签证官眼里这个土地使用证可能什么都不是，只有一个红章在上面，
当然有具体的使用面积，位置等信息）
签证官：有存款吗？
爸爸：有，（递上存折，爸爸说就看了前面三张，爸妈培养我们读书上学，没有多少存款
，
一张存折也就1000元）
签证官：你们有工作吗？
爸爸：没有，我们是种地的。
签证官：你们通过了。
然后爸妈去办理邮寄业务，不到一点半就出来了。
听爸爸说，他讲话放慢速度，尽量把每个字都说清楚。所以，签证官还是听懂了爸爸的话
。
这是我们全家人努力再加上爸妈运气好的结果。非常感谢我哥哥，妹妹的无私奉献。

附我从本版总结的给爸妈的所有内容：
一、签证要点
强调看看儿子和他在美国的生活，了解一下美国社会。强调儿子回来看过你们，你们只是
想去美国看看。千万不要说照看小孩。不管签证官问什么，你们坚持一个原则，就是出去
看看儿子和旅游美国。其他事情都不需要你们做。千万积极主动，让他看照片。
1.千万不要趴在签证官面前，最起码也要抬头挺胸吧。要自然的看着签证官回答问题，不
卑不亢，千万不要紧张，不要诚惶诚恐。
2.对签证官说好听的，比如：给你们添麻烦啦；辛苦你们啦;听我儿子说美国人都很热情
好客，您一定也是。微笑总是要有的。
3.和签证官说话的时候非常有礼貌，递材料都是双手，并且放文件的方向和自己相反，这
样递送材料的方向都是朝向签证官的。
4.强调看看儿子和他在美国的生活，了解了解美国社会。我们几乎所有的亲属关系都在国
内。千万不要露出或装出可怜相，让别人怜悯你们。美国人是绝对不会因为怜悯你们，发
给你们签证。只有信心十足地让签证官知道你们是有资格去美国看看的，你们去了肯定会
回来，不会留在美国。
5.一定要有信心，要有自信，因为我们的材料是真实的，要相信自己。
6.要敢于大声为自己辩护，尤其对自己有利的条件。此时，只有自己能给自己说话，别人
谁也帮不了你。
7.不要慌，不要忙着回答他们的问题，想好了再答，防止他给你设套，把回答的速度放慢
，回答要干脆、利索、准确。
8.材料尽量准备齐全，防止他要，你没有。
9.一定要有照片，有全家福，10-20张，多了他也不会看。
10. 不要强调多么想孩子。否则他一句：叫你们的孩子回来看你们吧，就完了。我看到有
的父母说：我们都70多岁了，叫我们去看看儿子吧，我们是外地来的，多不容易呀！记住
：他们不会可怜你，仍然被据了。一定要在他们面前呈现你健康、精神、可以完成这次长
途旅行。有精力和愿望去了解美国。
11.还有着装，妈妈还在职，需要庄重，但是又要有母亲的慈祥的感觉。
二、签证过程：
1.你们可以比预约时间（12:30）提前一小时去使馆。
2.进入使馆后，你们随着人流走，大家都是去签证的，会到同一个地方。
3.一般先在某个窗口前（好像是最里边那个窗口）交上：签证费收据，护照，填好的DS-
156 及 DS-157表（材料列表上的基本申请材料）。 然后你们会得到一个有颜色的牌子。
4.拿到牌子后，会叫你们去做指纹。然后排成一队，大约10个人左右，等候叫你们。
5.一直等到轮到拿你们这种颜色的牌子的人去签证了，你们会被叫到某个签证官的窗口前
。
6.在某个签证官的窗口前等着，听到签证官叫你们的名字，就可以上去签证了。签证官会
用中文叫你们的名字的。
7.上去后，先交回手里的牌子并打招呼，说“给你添麻烦了”。千万不要趴在窗口上。站
直了，微笑着看着签证官的眼睛。
8.然后双手递上我的英文邀请信和材料清单，等签证官问问题。这时候可以主动给他看照
片。
9.签证的时候，要注意观察玻璃窗口上扬声器和微型话筒的位置，听问题时注意向有喇叭
的方向听，说话的时候注意向有微型话筒的方向说话。你们听签证官讲话和回答问题时可
以适当地靠近一点。
三、重点问题
1.你们去美国干什么？谁邀请你们去的？（看我儿子，并且看看美国，在美国旅游旅游）
2.你儿子什么时候去美国的？回来过吗？（我儿子２００２年５月去美国的。当然回来过
）
3.打算去多长时间？什么时候去？（三个月，三月底去）
4.你们有几个孩子？他们在哪儿？（我们有三个孩子）
5.你们做什么工作？（我们是农民，不会下岗，每年收入足够我们生活）
6.你们有房子吗？（当然有啦！在我们小镇上，有两座房子）
7.你儿子有孩子吗？有，四岁多啦，在上幼儿园。
8.你儿子在美国干什么？（在大学里做研究）

五、给签证官的信
Dear Visa Officer,
My name is XXX, currently a Research Assistant at XXX University. I came to
the United States in XXX, and came back to China to visit my parents in XXX.
Now I wish to invite my parents to visit me and look around in the United
States.
The first and most important is that my parents are farmers from tip to toe.
They can NOT speak well in mandarin. Therefore, Dear Visa Officer, PLEASE be
patient to my parents, and read this letter firstly. In the following, I did
my best to explain something that you might want to know. I do understand your
hard and a little boring work day by day. I would appreciate any courtesy you
might be able to extend to my parents so that they may come to the United
States smoothly.
Why do I invite my parents to come to the United States?
1.To let my parents visit me and know what life I am leading in the USA. This
visit will be a great chance for my parents to make sure that I am able to
take care of myself and my family as well as have a taste of the United States
. They can experience my life in the USA by theirself and no longer worried
about me when they come back to the China.
2.To show my parents around the USA and know more about the western culture. I
want my parents to come to the USA in the later of the March when all
Maryland is covered by flowers. I can show them the Cherry Blossom, the White
House, and the Capitol of Washington DC, the Statue of Liberty of New York,
the beach of Miami, and other famous or local scenic spots on the weekend and
my legal holiday. During the travel, my parents can know more about the food,
culture, and history of the United States.
3.I have a wish that is to show my dear parents around the most modern nation
in the world, and let them “see the world”. I hope, dear Visa Officer, you
can make my wish come true.
4.My parents deserve to have a good travel in their lifetime. It is really
very NOT easy for peasantry in China to bring up three children who all got
their decent jobs in city and are leading their honorable life. It was their
hard work in the field day and night that paid for our educations. I got my Ph
.D. degree at XXX University. I am very proud of them. They are also very
proud of me. Terefore, the success of our brothers and sister is definitely
the success of my parents. My parents deserve to take a look at this great and
most modern nation in the world.
Why will my parents absolutely come back to the China after visiting the
United States?
1.My parents have three children, only am I in the USA. My elder brother and
my sister-in-law, who have a son, work for the government at XXX city. My
younger sister runs a computer company with her husband in Beijing. They all
lead their happy life. My parents often get together with them.
2.My 81 years old grandma lives with my parents for many years. My parents
have to come back to take care of her after shortly visiting me.
3.My parents do love their small hometown. No matter how many times my brother
, and my sister, even myself when I was in Beijing, invited my parents to live
with them, every time, they never lived with them more than one week. But
they usually visit my brother a couple of times a month, and visit my sister
once a year. They very love their hometown, where the brooklet is so clear and
the air is so fresh, and where they grew up, married and brought up our
brothers and sister. They love their current fresh, convenient, colorful, and
peaceful life in my hometown.
4.They would become blind, deaf and dumb and feel uncomfortable if they stay
long a little in the USA. My parents speak the dialect of north China and
follow the Chinese traditional culture. They are only familiar with the
Chinese life and love the Chinese food. They cannot read, listen and speak in
English. The best for them is to stay only three months with me and experience
the USA life a little.
In summary, with so many reasons for visiting me in the USA, and so much in
China and so little in the USA, my parents do want to visit the USA, but do
not want to be away from home too long. So, they will leave the United States
on time after their shortly visiting me. My parents and I are looking forward
to this family reunion and having a very happy time in the USA.
I would be very happy to pay round airplane-tickets and all travel and living
expenses of my parents when they stay in the USA.
